This past Saturday, August 23rd, our community came together for the 20th Annual School Street Block Party—and what a celebration it was! From early morning clean-up to late-night music and laughter, the day showcased everything that makes our neighborhood so special.

The Day Began With Community Spirit

The celebration started at 8:00 AM, when School Street officially closed to traffic. By 9:00 AM, neighbors were out with brooms, garbage bins, and music boxes to give our block a fresh shine. The teamwork set the perfect tone for the day.

Contributions That Made It Happen

Thanks to household contributions of $20 each, we were able to secure all the essentials: permits, entertainment, supplies, and the memorable extras that made the day run smoothly. Many neighbors contributed early, which ensured that planning went off without a hitch.

Entertainment Highlights

The party was packed with activities for all ages:

  • A moon jump and firetruck delighted kids in the afternoon.
  • Cornhole competitions kept residents engaged well into the day.
  • The ice cream eating contestwater balloon tosspiñata, and candy jar guessing game sparked laughter and friendly rivalry.
  • Kids wowed the crowd in the afternoon Talent Show—a true highlight of the day.
  • From 6:00 to 8:00 PM, our hired DJ had the block dancing.
  • As the night wound down, neighbors gathered around a firepit, with games, storytelling, and plenty of good cheer lasting until the final clean-up at 10:00 PM.

Shared Food and Flavors

The Trimarco family once again anchored the meals with a grilled lunch, name tags, wine tasting cups, condiments, and essentials like buns, utensils, and tablecloths.

Every household brought something to share—main dishes, sides, desserts, and refreshing drinks. The variety was astounding, from homemade specialties to summer sippers. Together, we created a feast that truly reflected the diversity and care of our community.
